New Horizons provides care in the community, running services all year round, including our Monday Club. This project targets the frail, isolated and vulnerable elderly, many of whom have no family or support network at home.
Currently we work with people aged over 50, providing possibly the only cooked meal they will regularly receive and we plan to expand this service in the New Year.
Once a month we also host a well-being café, called Haven on the Green, which gives Carers the opportunity to enjoy some respite, food and entertainment, while we help look after those they care for.
When funding is available, an additional free Community Meal is held once a month for the over 55s within Wyke.
Befriending in the Community is also a large part of what we do here, bringing companionship and support to isolated and vulnerable in the secure familiarity of their own home.
