Royds Community Association is a charity and was formed in 1994 to help revitalise the villages of Buttershaw, Woodside and Delph Hill in South West Bradford.
Royds covers an area with a population of around 12,000 people and 3,500 dwellings.
This regeneration was achieved by securing major funding including a £31m SRB (single regeneration budget).
The local community were vital in making the plans which saw hundreds of houses built and renovated. Royds has also helped thousands of people to get into training, find jobs and live healthier lives. Royds continues to provide advice and counselling services for local people covering areas such as debt and welfare.
The project was hailed as a major success and is a nationally recognised example of how community regeneration can be delivered successfully.
In keeping with the Royds ethic of sustainable investment - the legacy is still benefiting the local area - and beyond through consultancy work.
The project has been sustained by the income still generated from the assets built at that time. These are:
Royds Enterprise Park
